The Prairie Winds District covers all of the western part of the Council including the counties of Polk, Butler, York, Seward, Fillmore, Saline, Thayer, a portion of western Saunders and Jefferson. Some of the cities served include Stromsburg, Rising City, David City, York, Seward, Crete, Milford, Geneva, Hebron and Fairbury.

Don't forget to submit your sales sheets after you hit $1,250 for the SPIN TO WIN EVENT! You can submit your sales sheets, (make sure they have a name and Unit number) either by email to, fax to 402-488-6051, or drop a copy off at the office. We are already receiving entries, and you don't want to miss out!

The new Youth Protection Training we released last spring. This is the designated Youth Protection training for all adults, regardless of which BSA program they are involved in. All volunteers must take the new training by October 1st, 2018, no matter when they took the previous training.

In an effort to drive program consistency and deeper engagement with our youth and leaders, Boy Scouts of America is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2019, Scoutbook subscriptions will be free to all BSA units.

Outdoor Preparedness (Formerly IOLS and BALOO)

Work as patrols with this hands-on course providing adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Cub Scouts and Scouts in the out -of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Cub Scouts and Scouts the basic outdoor skills.

***All participants need to take the BALOO online training in order to get credit for both IOLS and BALOO

**** This is an overnight campout course, tents are required.

Saturday, October 6th, from 9:00am – 1:30pm. The Cub Scout Day of AWESOMENESS is an opportunity for Cub Scouts (1-5th grade) and their families to start the year off with a fun outdoor event. New and existing Cub Scouts are invited to come.

Football season will be here soon!
It's time to start thinking about Husker Football again!!! If you are interested in ushering at the Home football games, all you have to do is get signed up on-line. Sign up on-line by clicking Scout Ushering Registration All Ushers must be registered with the Boy Scouts, and wear a FULL uniform to the games. (Scout Shirt, pants or shorts, socks, and belt)

The Cornhusker Council is happy to announce a Council wide Scout Spirit Week! In honor of National Constitution and Citizenship Day (September 17th), all Scouts are encouraged to honor our Country.

Updating BeAScout Pins is an important step in helping prospective Scouts and their families get in touch with the right Pack. This is critical to help them find the right pack for their son, daughter or the whole family.
