Camp Health and Safety Standards
Please read through the following health and safety items. Your adherence to these issues will ensure a safe and fun stay at camp.
Footwear
Shoes need to be worn in camp at all times to prevent foot injuries. Please no sandals or open toed shoes.
Annual Health and Medical Record
- The Boy Scouts of America recommends that all youth and adult members have annual medical evaluations by a certified and licensed health-care provider. Parts A and B of the BSA Annual Health and Medical Record form must be completed annually by all BSA unit members and anyone attending Webelos Resident Camp. Both parts are required for all Cub Camping activities provided by the Cornhusker Council, which includes Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub Scout Family Camp, and Webelos Resident Camp. All participants, both youth and adult, must bring the Annual Health and Medical Record with Parts A & B completed. This is the National Health Form and it is required. You will not be allowed to stay in camp without one. Health forms will be turned in to the Camp Health Officer at camp check-in. Parts C is not required for Webelos Resident Camp because the program does not span more than 72 hours. Parts A & B can be downloaded as a fill-able PDF file at http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/parts_ab.pdf.

Camp First Aid Station and Health Office
A qualified Camp Health Officer will be on duty at the Camp. All illness or injuries must be reported to the Camp Health Officer no matter how minor. In the event of serious illness or injury, the camper will be taken to a clinic or hospital for treatment. Parents will be notified and billed directly by the doctor or hospital.
Special Medicines
All prescription or other special medications must be checked in at the Camp Health Officer during medical rechecks at check-in. We will store and record when the medication is taken.
It is the Webelos and his leader's responsibility to come to the Camp Health Office, during one of our medication calls, to take his medication. We will not hunt down each Scout to take his medication.
-
Dangerous Items and Substances
Some items are not permitted at camp. Failure to abide by the camp rules may lead to dismissal from camp. Do not bring any alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs into camp. Firearms, ammunition, personal BB guns, fireworks, bows and arrows, and sheath knives are primarily among the items that should not be brought to camp. The use of aerosol propellant based insect spray is prohibited. Please use insect repellent in squeeze bottles or pump action containers.
Pets
Pets, of any kind, other then medically required service animals are not allowed at camp.
-
Camp Telephone
The camp telephone is used for camp business and emergencies only.
